Schools are becoming a prime target for cybercriminals who want to steal data, extort money, or disrupt education. In 2023, ransomware attacks on schools surged by a staggering 827%, while malware attacks rose by 323%, according to the latest report by SonicWall. These attacks can compromise sensitive data, disrupt learning, and cause financial losses. West Valley Technology Levy will be utilized to help protect student data and privacy through cybersecurity tools and equipment/personnel. Did you know that the last time West Valley School passed a levy was in 2007? That’s when the first iPhone came out, Blockbuster was alive, and MySpace was popular. A lot has changed in 17 years, but West Valley’s levy amounts have stayed the same. West Valley School District is proposing two levies: a Technology Levy and a General Fund Levy. Together, we can make a difference for our school and our community. Reminder that next Thursday, and Friday are early release and all students will be released at 1pm. Please note that Friday the 15th is NOT a late start. School will start at the regular time, 8:15 (4-8) and 8:20 (K-3).
Cross Country athletes must have a physical on file at the office dated after May 1, 2023 in order to begin practicing March 19. The form can be found at most physician's offices, or our Athletics Website under Registration.
